Following Alice meant I’d usually frequent the same area. I knew her favourite hangouts and routes. Heading to the same spots every day meant I got to know the other animals in that area as well.
Alongside Riverside drive; one of Alice’s favourite haunts, were some showy squirrels. These particular palm squirrels had found some prime real estate in the form of a few holes in an ebony tree. Every morning drive if you hit their tree at the right time (if I hadn’t found Alice beforehand) there they’d be, a bundle of squirrels soaking up the morning rays. Grooming each other, stretched out or in a squirrely bundle they’d provide entertainment for every passing vehicle. Some days there’d be no vehicles, other days these little rodents would cause a traffic jam as people snapped them in their comical poses.
